"I want to thank you for everything you do for our kids.  They come back to the school and talk about you for days and days.  You make a big difference in their lives, and we appreciate it so much." - Teacher

"Just wanted to thank you so much for setting up the theater workshop. It was WONDERFUL! I NEVER saw 49 kids so involved in every part of the performance/activity. We could have gone on into the afternoon!" - Teacher

Gemini Theater Company offers three different options in our Educational Outreach Program so we can best fit your needs for fun, interactive theater productions and workshops for students Pre-K through 12! You will see that all workshop and production options have suggested grade-levels with their descriptions - this is to better help you decide what program is best for your students. We are also happy to build an "Outreach Package" to suit your needs if you are seeking a program for several different age-groups within your school or organization. Please look at what we have to offer and feel free to call us with questions about what we can do for you! We will add new shows as the season progresses, so please check back to see what's new!

Travel Shows

Our smaller travel shows use minimal sets and props, making it easy to come right to your classroom. If you have a larger group, we bring a little more and can perform in your gymnasium, multi-purpose room, or any space where kids can be noisy and have fun while learning. Our tour package includes:

  • Interactive performance for your group
  • Talk-back with the actors after the show
  • 20 – 30 minutes of “Theater Games” with your group. These are activities actors use to strengthen their skills on stage. The activities we use can be transferred to the classroom for use by teachers – we will provide the “rules” on how to play!
  • Pre-show and Post-show Packet of activity and learning pages for your students

Travel shows may be subject to additional mileage fees based on location of school/organization. Prices for travel shows are subject to change based on Federal Mileage Rates. Travel shows are guaranteed price quoted at time of booking after receipt of signed contract. A 25% discount will apply to additional show bookings contracted within 30 days of original booked show. Booking Rates are based on touring shows to schools during the weekdays. Additional fees will apply for weekends, evenings, and holiday bookings. All shows are created for audiences of 150 or less, including smaller shows for groups of 50 or less. More than 150 students or audience size of 200+ including adults will have an additional fee.

Visit the Gemini Theater

Your students or group can book your own Gemini Performance for a special weekday “matinee” performance during the school year. During your visit, your students will see one of our interactive performances, meet the actors after the show, and participate in theater “games” that we use in our classes and camps. You may bring lunches to enjoy during a break after the show or theater games – lunch space provided through our community partners. The theater seats 115 people, so we are perfect for schools who want to take an entire class to a theater experience. There is convenient bus drop-off in front of the building, so no students should need to cross a street or walk in the elements to enjoy a show!

We require that adult chaperones are present and seated in the theater during the performance and during all activities in the theater. Handicap accessible seating is available in the front row of the audience seating. Lunches and snacks should be kept outside the theater for the comfort of our visitors and our actors. If a school or group has more than 110 students, we can book a second visit at a special discount.

Acting Workshops

We know that teachers and parents often have to spend a lot of time trying to find assembly programs for all students in a school and not just one or two grade levels. In the past year, we have developed a workshop program that allows us to visit your school and work with your upper-level students, who are too old for our interactive shows, and teach them traditional acting games and improvisation sketches in a casual, fun setting. Workshops can be an afternoon visit or a multi-visit program that takes place during or after regular school hours. Prices for workshops vary based on number of students, needed teachers, and length of time. Our Outreach Coordinator will be happy to design your workshop to suit your needs and budget!

We request a maximum of fifteen (15) students per teacher at a time so as to provide the best experience possible. We are able to provide one teacher, who will teach two classes in a row, or we can make arrangements for two teachers to work together with a larger group or a split group based on age.

Acting class workshops are modeled after our own classes held in the Gemini Theater facility during the school year. Students will learn to work in a creative setting while building skills in teamwork, imagination, public speaking, characterization, and exchange of dialogue. Each session will vary in curriculum including theater warm-up games, acting exercises, short script work, and "on-the-spot" scenes developed by the students, similar to improvisation scenes.

Acting Class workshops do not culminate in a formal performance, but families are always invited to the class to observe their child using skills they have learned in the workshop or skills built upon from prior experience. When needed, Gemini Theater will provide materials including props, costumes, and music as part of the workshop, and these materials are included as part of the overall cost of the workshop fee.
