2021 Winter Acting Workshops

We are so excited to provide a special 5-day camp week for our families during the Winter Break of many local schools. It has been an unusual year, and we know that having a fun activity for your kids may be an important part of your family. This mixed-age group camp is a great way for kids to participate in active creativity with new friends and share their skills in a one-of-a-kind performance on the last camp day. Space will be LIMITED for this camp in an effort to maintain a safe and healthy environment for our campers.

Workshop Details & Pricing

Ages 7 - 12 | Workshop Group

December 27th - 31st | 9am - 4pm

Tuition - $300

Does your son or daughter like to pretend? This camp will unlock your child’s creativity and take him/her on a week-long adventure into the imagination! Young actors choose their own characters and put them all together into an original story, which they write, rehearse and perform as a mini play on the last day of the workshop. While having fun and making new friends, your child will improve his/her ability to listen, follow directions, compose a story, understand conflict & resolution, develop a character, accomplish an objective, collaborate with peers, perform in front of an audience, and use the imagination. With older campers being part of the group, we are excited to have them become mentors to our younger actors, creating a unique show for all to enjoy!

This is a FULL-DAY Workshop | Monday – Friday | 9:00am – 4:00pm
Final performance will be held on the final day, Friday, December 31 at 3:30pm

Important Details

  1. All campers are required to wear a mask during the camp week. We will provide a special CLEAR mask to all campers to use on their performance day. (These are the same masks we are using in our live performances.) A camper may choose to use their own mask for the show. We will have extra masks on hand, should anyone need one during the camp day.
  2. The theater is cleaned daily during and after camp. Hand sanitizer will be available in the theater space at all times. We ask that if your camper is not feeling well, OR a member of your family is ill, to please stay home for the day. If anyone in your family has COVID 14 days prior OR LESS, we would need proof of a negative Covid test at least 72 hours to camp start date.
  3. The library will be open during the camp week, so parents who wish to stay will have space to do so. We encourage going to Black Forge Coffee, which is located in walking distance from the theater, if you would like to stay local to camp.
  4. Campers must provide their own lunch. We will provide snack twice a day, offering simple items of juice or water and snack. If your child has special dietary needs or allergies, we recommend providing their snack, as well. All of our snacks are nut-free though several may contain wheat and/or dairy.
  5. Depending on enrollment, we may have to set a limitation on audience members per camper for show day, But, we will record the show, and a copy of the video will be emailed as a link and a DVD can be provided upon request.
  6. Every camper will receive a cast photo and t-shirt at the end of the week.

COVID Requirements

Gemini Theater is requiring that all guests, students, patrons, and other visitors wear a mask when attending any show, class or event. Proof of vaccination is not required AT THIS TIME, since many of our visitors are children below the recommended age to receive it. With continuing changes regarding COVID and it’s variants, we will make updates to our policy as necessary.

We understand that not every one is ready to return to see live theater. We are maintaining assigned seating with social distancing seating blocked around every group. The theater will be cleaned before and after all classes and events as well as between show times on the weekends. We ask that you stay home of any of your family members are ill and visit us when everyone is healthy. Tickets are always exchangeable due to illness in the family.

At this time, our staff, teachers, actors, and technicians are fully vaccinated, per our hiring contracts. If you have any questions or concerns regarding the Gemini Theater COVID Policy, you may email Jill Jeffrey at jjeffrey@geminitheater.org.

Stay safe. Stay healthy. Stay magical.”
