Gemini Theater Company offers three different options in our Educational Outreach Program so we can best fit your needs for fun, interactive theater productions and workshops for students Pre-K through 12! You will see that all workshop and production options have suggested grade-levels with their descriptions – this is to better help you decide what program is best for your students. We are also happy to build an “Outreach Package” to suit your needs if you are seeking a program for several different age-groups within your school or organization. Please look at what we have to offer and feel free to call us with questions about what we can do for you!

“Jane’s Jungle Adventure, Little Mermaid Pollution Solution, and Pirates of the Mon are presented with special permission by Lani Cerveris-Cataldi and Creative Spirit Productions.”

Gemini "On the Go!"

Virtual Shows

With the healthy and safety of our communities being a priority, we have created a series of virtual shows that you can enjoy with your students from your classroom or home. Virtual shows are pre-recorded and edited for quality. You “rent” the show for set duration of days and a link is sent to your outreach organizer to share. This allows at-home students to watch at a convenient time with their families. Virtual shows marked in descriptions.

Live-Streaming Shows

We can provide a live-stream show in real-time so your students can interact with and talk to our actors. These are best suited for excellent-quality streaming to one classroom or group, as opposed to across multiple devices, which can slow or distort the sound and/or video. We recommend our Interactive “Game” Shows for this option.

Pricing varies – talk to one of our staff members for details and to schedule.

Visit the Gemini Theater

Your students or group can book your own Gemini Performance for a special weekday “matinee” performance during the school year. During your visit, your students will see one of our interactive performances, meet the actors after the show, and participate in theater “games” that we use in our classes and camps. You may bring lunches to enjoy during a break after the show or theater games – lunch space provided through our community partners. The theater seats 115 people, so we are perfect for schools who want to take an entire class to a theater experience. There is convenient bus drop-off in front of the building, so no students should need to cross a street or walk in the elements to enjoy a show!

  • TEACHERS AND CHAPERONES FREE! (Up to 10 adults)
  • Your school may qualify for a discount: Pittsburgh Public, Sto-Rox Schools, Pittsburgh Diocese Schools

We require that adult chaperones are present & seated in the theater during the performance as well as all activities in the theater. Handicap accessible seating is available in the front row of the audience seating. Lunches and snacks should be kept outside the theater for the comfort of our visitors and our actors. If your group has more than 114 visitors, we can book a second visit at a special discount. All guests must have seat while the performance is playing.

Performance Descriptions & Pricing

Alice in Wonderland

Alice is having trouble with homework that asks her to “use her imagination.” When a white rabbit appears, she follows him on an adventure through Wonderland where she makes new friends and helps them with their problems. This is show is based on characters from Lewis Carroll’s “Alice In Wonderland” story. Students help Alice teach her new friends about team work, acceptance, manners, bullying and more! We recommend this show for children ages 5 – 8 years of age.

Jane's Jungle Adventure

Jane is lost on her safari and her GPS has stopped working. Though she has a map, she is not very good at following directions. When she meets a new friend in the jungle, he helps guide her back to her campsite. Students become jungle animals to help teach Jane the importance of following instructions when trying to tackle a new task. We recommend this show for children ages 4 – 8 years of age.

Little Mermaid's Pollution Solution

The Little Mermaid has come back under the sea to visit her father, but the Sea Witch is up to her old tricks. She has polluted the water to drive out all the sea life in order to take over the underwater kingdom. It’s up to the Little Mermaid and her sea creature friends to save the day. Students learn about water pollution and the danger it creates for underwater sea life. This show has two different package options to accommodate a larger or smaller audience. We recommend this show for children 6 – 9 years of age.

Mother Goose’s Nursery Games

This special performance is perfect for children ages 2 to 4. While learning nursery rhymes with Mother Goose, children get to meet Jack & Jill and Little Bo Peep, who each help act out or sing about children’s favorite nursery characters. This show works well in any setting and can be booked for in-house performances or travels well to any location.

Pirates of the Mon (A “Pittsburgh” Pirate Adventure)

Student buccaneers set sail on the Black and Gold Pearl with Allegheny Annie and Captain Schnook on an action-packed adventure in search of the Triangle Treasure. Their efforts are thwarted when the lazy Captain Schnook loses his sword, telescope and the treasure map because his ship is such a mess! Annie and the crew join forces to help the Captain get himself and the ship back into shape and beat the notorious Swiper Sam to the treasure. ¬¬¬ Through very interactive songs, the crew learns how to wake up their energy, cooperate, make work fun, and use their brains over brawn to outsmart the enemy. We recommend this show for children 3-8 years of age.

Interactive Game Shows!

Robin Hood, The Game

We have taken the familiar story of Robin Hood and turned it into a quirky “game show within a play” performance to teach about bullying. Our original story takes a twist that utilizes the students in a variety of ways from sound effects to characters to game show contestants. We recommend this show for children ages 6 – 14 years of age.

King Arthur, The Game

The tale of Sword In the Stone has never been seen quite the same, once our team of players take the stage to re-enact the story. The Lady of the Lake has her hands full, quizzing the actors and audience on all of young Arthur’s adventures and lessons with Merlyn. This newly adapted show is part of our interactive “game show” productions. We recommend this show for children ages 8 – 15 years of age.

Acting Workshops

We know that teachers and parents often have to spend a lot of time trying to find assembly programs for all students in a school and not just one or two grade levels. We have developed a workshop program that allows us to visit your school and work with your students and teach them traditional acting games and improvisation sketches in a casual, fun setting. Workshops can be an afternoon visit or a multi-visit program that takes place during or after regular school hours. Prices for workshops vary based on number of students, the type of program you would like, and the length of the total workshop. Our staff will be happy to design your workshop to suit your needs and budget!
